From time to time, Google just keeps surprising me. The innovative projects just keep coming. This time it’s Google’s Sketchup that got my attention. It’s another one of those products they bought in and modified it to integrate with some other google technology.

Linux on your iPod Nano?
Possible? Of course! 😉 Thanks to the iPodLinux project, you can easily dual boot your iPod into linux! If you don’t have an iPod yet, it sure makes you wanna have one. 😉 Here are some screenshots to see it in action.

Google map ‘secrets’
It’s interesting to see what kind of public side information the google maps initiative can provide. Who knows what else you can discover on this satellite data besides crop circles.. 🙂 I tried a search on google maps for crop circles, but it seems they don’t index this. 😉
Word online
Who wants Word documents? Nobody.
Still, some people use Word in daily life for which this Word-like online editor can come in handy. Firefox only though. :-S
Open source movie
You probably heard already about the open source beer, music, graphics cards etc, but did you hear about this open source (short) movie yet? 🙂 When it’s released, I’d certainly like to take a look at those models and animation scripts! As the URL already hints, this movie will be entirely animated using Blender. In general, it is made with open source tools only. Really a wonderful initiative!
